Cathryn Garcia

Hello wonderful parents and students,

I am so pleased to welcome you to our classroom! Here is a little bit about me: I've been blessed to grow up in the Etiwanda school district and have attended schools of our very own as a student. I have also had the opportunity to work as part of the Etiwanda school district for the last ten years.  During this time I have worked in various settings as an instructional aide, substitute teacher, and general education teacher and have had the  chance to teach at every grade level (TK-8th) in all 13 of our school sites. I have also had seven years of experience working as a behavior therapist for children with Autism and other developmental disabilities. This year will be my fifth year teaching at Caryn!

I'm married to an amazing husband who has encouraged me to follow my dream to pursue a teaching career.  We both love traveling to new places and trying new foods! It isn´t uncommon for us to drive several hours on a weekend just to try a new restaurant we have heard about! Together we have an amazing three year old son (Maddox) and a wonderful one year old son (Ryland). Maddox and Ryland are the most joyful brother duo and I am so blessed to be their mommy!

I love teaching and am looking forward to getting to know my new students and their families. Second graders are like little sponges soaking up knowledge. It's always fun to see how much they learn and grow throughout the year.

I am so excited to teach second grade again this year! Prior to teaching kindergarten the last few years I taught second grade and absolutely loved it!  Here at Caryn we have a wonderful staff, awesome students, and very supportive parents.  If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to contact me. I want to help in any way I can. You can email me at cathryn_garcia@etiwanda.org, send a message to me on the Remind App, or schedule an appointment with the office.

I look forward to a great year with you and your child. :)
