I am so excited to be your teacher this year!

Here's a bit about me. I am entering my 8th year of teaching. I have taught 5th grade for two years and taught 4th grade for four years, all at Lightfoot. I also completed a year as a long term sub, split between 3rd and 5th grade. Prior to teaching, I worked with children and adults with disabilities for 5 years. I have a Bachelor's Degree in Social Work from Whittier College and a Teaching Credential from the University of La Verne. I also have a certificate in Gifted and Talented Education from UCSD.

My family is very important to me. I have been married to my husband for 20 years and we have 3 children; Luke and Makayla are 17, and Emily is 14. We enjoy camping, hosting family events, and a good board game.

My biggest priority in my classroom is to make each student feel valued, instill a growth mindset, and teach the 4th grade standards with rigor. I have high expectations regarding quality of work and behavior. I am thrilled to be your 4th grade teacher for the 2024-2025 school year!
