I am very excited to begin another year teaching at East Heritage Elementary School! I moved to Fontana twenty years ago, after finishing my Bachelor's of Arts in Psychology from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. I was very happy to leave the long, cold Wisconsin winters for the sunny beaches of California. Once I moved here, I began a teaching credential program at Azusa Pacific University and I started substitute teaching in the Rancho area. I have since received my credential, and I have finished my Master's of Arts in Education with a teaching emphasis. In December of 2019 I completed my Early Childhood permit through UCLA extension. I have worked for the Etiwanda School District since March 2005 and I feel very lucky to teach for such a great district. This is my nineteenth year teaching. I have taught second grade for six years, fourth grade for four years, eight years in TK, and this year I am teaching kindergarten! I am so ready for a new and exciting school year! I love working with children and I will do everything possible to make sure that your child receives a great, standards-based education. Aside from time spent teaching, I enjoy reading, hiking and biking, going to the movies, vacationing, spending time with family and friends.
Mission
It is my mission to see that each child will be successful in my classroom. I plan to engage and challenge all of my students. I will work to make sure that every child is prepared and ready for kindergarten by the end of the school year. I want to encourage every student to further develop a love of learning!
