Heather Bly

Mrs. Bly

Welcome to the wonderful world of first grade! My name is Heather Bly and I am beyond excited to be your child's teacher! I grew up locally in Alta Loma and attended Cal State Fullerton where I earned my BA and Multiple Subject Teaching Credential. This is my 19th year teaching first grade at East Heritage. I have a passion for teaching and learning. I truly believe that I learn just as much from my students as they do from me. I enjoy watching my students make connections and discover the world around them. I set very high expectations for my students and work extremely hard to create a classroom that feels safe, positive, and engaging. I look forward to all this year has in store and can't wait to meet your child!

A little more about me...I am married to my amazingly supportive husband and I'm also a mommy to two adventurous boys! Barrett is 5 and Bodie is 3. They are my world! They keep me on my toes doing all things boy. As a family, we enjoy bike riding, traveling and being outdoors.

Mrs. Childers

Mrs. Childers

My name is Jennifer Childers and I am very happy to be your student's first grade teacher for this school year. You will see me Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday. I really look forward to meeting and getting to know you and your child. This will be my 24th year teaching! I have taught TK, Kindergarten, 1st & 2nd grades. I really enjoy teaching young learners how to read and hope to pass on my love for books and fun stories. I earned my Bachelor’s degree from Cal State Fullerton and Masters in reading from Concordia University.

A little more about me... I am married and have a 20 year old son. My son is starting his senior year of college and we are enjoying guiding him through this time in his life. As a family, we enjoy traveling, going to the beach and relaxing by our pool.

I'm looking forward to a great year!

November's Weekly Parent Updates

Homework Assignments

See parent newsletter and weekly homework packet for more details.

Homework will go home in your child's homework binder every FRIDAY and will be returned the following FRIDAY. If Friday is a holiday, homework will go home the day we return. We do this so that you are able to get started over the weekend if you know you have a busy week ahead. This will also help your child become acquainted with the upcoming skills. We do not correct homework. However, we do look it over and it does count toward each child's participation grade. Important! Please take care of the homework binder. It needs to be brought to and from school every day. If the binder is damaged or lost, you will need to replace it (1" clear, white view binder). It is an important resource for you and your child, so please treat it with care. Thank you for supporting your child and helping them succeed!
