Greetings! My name is Susie Curado-Kam. I was born in Taiwan and grew up in Hawaii on the island of Oahu. I moved to California in 1985 when my husband's job brought him to the Inland Empire. I am the proud mom of two boys--Ian, who graduated from UCLA and is about to finish his nursing degree, and Ethan, who will be starting his junior year at UC Santa Cruz. Both of my boys attended elementary school here at East Heritage and went on to Heritage Intermediate. My family and I enjoy traveling and have been fortunate enough to have visited several countries around the world. I attended school at the University of Hawaii and finished my teaching credential at Cal State San Bernardino. I have a Master's Degree from Chapman University and have been teaching now for 33 years. Many of those years have been spent teaching second and fourth grade, but I've also taught first and third grade, as well as combination classes. My first teaching assignment was at Summit when it was still an elementary school. I then came to East Heritage as part of the original staff when the school was opened in 1995.
Mission For The Class
Welcome to 4th grade! My mission for our class is to provide a place where your child can feel comfortable and secure, and where learning is a fun and exciting process. As well as addressing the academic standards, I hope to help your child develop into a caring and responsible citizen who has respect for themselves and others. I look forward to creating a working partnership with you to ensure that your child has a successful year in fourth grade.
