Mrs. Adez

Mrs. Adez

My name is Angie Adez and I have been teaching in the Etiwanda School District for 27 years. This will be my 23rd year here at John L. Golden Elementary School and my 21st year teaching kindergarten. I have been happily married to my high school sweetheart for 37 years. We have three amazing, grown children and two beautiful grandbabies.

I have a Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing from California State University Long Beach and I worked as a Labor and Delivery nurse at Pomona Valley Hospital for 17 years. When my children became school-aged, I went back to school and earned my teaching credential from California State University San Bernardino and then my Masters in Education from National University. In addition, I have a Reading Specialist certificate and have worked as a professional development trainer for Etiwanda and other school districts.  I have also worked for the California State Department of Education, reviewing textbooks for the new Common Core adoption. Education is my passion! I love mentoring other teachers and often have visitors and student teachers in my room.

Success for your child is my first priority. I hope to provide an enriching, motivating, and rewarding class environment. I believe children learn best by involving them in active, hands-on activities. We will do many different types of learning activities each week in class. I will run learning centers in my room four days a week and welcome parents into the classroom to volunteer during this time.

You will be amazed at just how much your child will grow this year. Your child will have the seeds of reading and writing planted during this first year of school. Those seeds will sprout and begin to grow. Soon, he or she will be an accomplished reader and writer! You will see changes in your child's thinking, as he/she becomes familiar with abstract concepts and symbols. The change will be dramatic – just compare a tiny seed with a full grown sunflower! That's the kind of growth you'll see this year! I am looking forward to sharing this special year with you and your child.
