Marlyn Melendrez

Mrs. Melendrez

I am so excited to be teaching 5th grade again this year! Teaching is something I absolutely love! I will always strive to make sure your child feels welcomed, cared for, and successful in all that we learn. I received a Bachelors Degree in Child Development and a Masters Degree in Education from the University of La Verne. I grew up in the Etiwanda School District and am now teaching here, which is so awesome!

I grew up in the Fontana/Rancho Cucamonga area my whole life. My husband and I now live in Rancho Cucamonga. We have been married for 3 years and have a dog named Gizmo who is our baby! On my free time I like doing outdoor activities like bike riding, swimming, running, and walking Gizmo. I also enjoy binge watching any shows I am into at the time and snacking on my favorite foods.

As your child's teacher I want to not only help them excel in school but also build relationships with them. I am so grateful to be a part of the helping hands that mold these young children into the responsible adults they will be one day in our communities.

Suggested Materials

I am so excited to meet you all on the first day of school. Please take a look below at a list of suggested supplies for your 5th grade year.

“This is a suggested supply list and purchase of these items is voluntary.”

“Organization is key in 5th grade.  Our students are provided with the materials they need for instruction, but many parents and students find it helpful to purchase folders and binders to organize those materials for class.  It is not necessary to purchase the additional items, but in the past, the following items have been helpful for students in 5th grade.”

“Our school provides all of the items we need for instruction, but we tend to use a lot of Kleenex and white board markers at this grade level.  If you would like to donate Kleenex or white board markers, we would appreciate the extra support.”
