Hello, my name is Tracie Carnes. I began teaching in the public schools over 25 years ago. I have been a teacher in the Etiwanda School district for over 20 years. It has been my pleasure to have taught grades Kindergarten, First and Second.
I earned my BA in Liberal Studies at Cal Poly Pomona and my teaching credential and Masters of Arts in Education at the Claremont Graduate University.
I have lived in Rancho Cucamonga for over 25 years. Needless to say, I have seen many changes and growth in the area. My husband and I bought our home in the Etiwanda School District over 15 years ago and have been happily living here with our two wonderful children Emily and Eric ever since. So I am also a proud Etiwanda parent.
In my free time I enjoy going to the movies and dinners out (I’m not much of a cook), reading, photography and scrap booking family memories.
My Class Mission Statement:
I believe that children are naturally curious and that learning new things is exciting, challenging and fun. In addition to addressing academic standards, I hope to instill the love of learning and to encourage your child to be the best they can be. I view every child as an individual who learns in their own way and at their own rate. I see myself as a sort of train conductor as well as a teacher. Each year I pick students up at various stops of development. My goal to take them as far as I can, helping them grow both academically and socially. At the end of the school year I drop them off safely at their different stops for their next teacher. This is not an easy task and your child's success depends greatly on support from you the parents. I look forward to working closely with you to ensure the educational success of your child this year and helping to lunch them into their future.
