Mrs. Mackinlay

Mrs. Mackinlay

Welcome Sharks to the 2023/2024 school year! I am looking forward to helping you learn a lot in the process. This year I will be your Math and Science teacher!

I have been married to my husband for 18 years and we have 2 children. I like to run, hike, and love nature. I also love to travel, because seeing the world is my favorite kind of adventure.

I received my Bachelor's degree and my credential at  California State University, San Bernardino.  I taught for 6 years in Alta Loma School District, and  this is my 9th year at Summit. I am the Kagan Coach for SIS, and I am on the PBIS team. With that being said, I value engagement and a cooperative learning environment with the three PBIS expectations being upheld, meaning we are safe, responsible and respectful within the school walls.

I believe traditional education is important which includes note taking in a lecture style format. However, I also believe having a healthy balance of a hands on approach to learning is important in math and science. I look at you as individuals and strive to meet you ALL where you are! We value each other’s unique abilities and encourage one another to give our best. I know that we are going to have a wonderful year of growth academically and personally, and I can't wait to get started. If you have any questions feel free to email me anytime at ericka_mackinlay@etiwanda.org.
