Teachers who LOVE teaching Teach children who LOVE learning!

Hi my name is Kelli Hernandez and I love teaching Kindergarten!
This is my 25th year teaching here at Windrows Elementary School. I received my masters degree in Education and California teaching credential from Azusa Pacific University.

I am married to an amazing man, Max Hernandez, who is an 8th grade teacher at Day Creek Intermediate School. I have two wonderful children, Mackenzie 22 and Luke 20. We love to be outside! Hiking, running and riding bikes are our favorite hobbies. I am looking forward to another great year!

Fur babies. Currently I have three dogs - Zorro, Bear, and Moose. Zorro is a Jack-Russell/Chihuahua mix. He's our pound puppy, about 10 years old, and yes he runs the show. Bear is 2 years old and is a Husky/Weimaraner mix. Bear is our athletic dog - he runs 8 miles easily and is already ready for his next walk. Last is Moose. Moose is a Golden Doodle. He's 1 year old. We are his 5th and final home because Moose has lots of energy. Moose loves having two brothers but can be a lot at times (in a happy way).

Announcements

Remind APP

I will send all my announcements through the Remind App. This is also my main communication tool. It allows us to text each other and send pictures during office hours of 8AM-3PM. Please download the app as soon as possible so you don't miss important information. When you download the app, please register with the same email address you entered into AERIES during Kindergarten Registration. You should automatically be enrolled into my class by the district. If you have any issues, please contact me via email kelli_hernandez@etiwanda.org.

Thank you!

Heart words

Sight words are called heart words because students need to know them “by heart.”

40 heart words are included in your homework folder.  Cut the words out and keep them in a safe place.

We will focus on one per week in class.

All 40 heart words need to be mastered by the end of the year.
