There will be no school on Veterans Day as we pause to honor and remember the brave individuals who have served. Our district office will also be closed for the day.

John L. Golden Elementary held two special assemblies to honor our veterans. Their choir performed, and their student council shared heartfelt speeches. Here are photos from each assembly, featuring their students and their families. One of the photos shows a special moment with a student, her grandfather, and great grandfather—both veterans.

West Heritage had a tremendous Veterans Day celebration! Students, staff, and families all came together to honor our veterans and express our gratitude for their service. Thank you to everyone who participated and helped make this event so special!

Megan Brown, one of our dedicated Golden librarians, created a powerful visual for Veterans Day with a White Table display. This symbolic tribute helps our students learn and reflect on the sacrifices of our veterans. Thank you, Megan, for sharing this meaningful tradition.

A huge shoutout to the incredible 5th-grade teachers at Windrows, along with their amazing students and supportive parents, for making this year’s Wax Museum a reality! Your dedication, teamwork, and hard work brought this project to life. Over the past few weeks, students have put in their best effort—researching, writing, and creating posters to make each presentation as engaging and accurate as possible.

High Five to Mrs. Robyn Smith, the incredible second-grade teacher at Grapeland, from the Smith Family! She has been such a wonderful, supportive presence and truly loves what she does. Her dedication and advocacy for each student’s success shine through every day. We feel so lucky to have Emersyn in her class!

This hands-on challenge encourages creativity, spatial awareness, and problem-solving! Our students had just one piece of paper and had to figure out how to make the longest paper chain possible. By experimenting with different ways to cut and connect, they engineered solutions that made the most out of limited resources! The results? Innovative ideas, lots of learning, and some super long paper chains!

Just a few smiling second graders with their wonderful teacher, Mrs. Sanchez, showing off their school spirit!
