Hello My Name Is...
Cheryl Dye
I began teaching for the Etiwanda School District in the 1989-1990 school year. I taught a total of five years before taking eight years off to raise our two children. I went back to Summit in 1999, where I partnered with Mrs. Hall for four years. I transferred when Day Creek opened. I am very excited about starting my 21st year here at Day Creek and partnering with Mrs.Rivas! My husband of 37 years is a Civil Engineer. Together we love to vacation! We camp at many National Parks. Our son Matt, 33, is a Cal Poly grad. Our daughter Shannon, 31, graduated from the University of Florida. Go Gators, and is now teaching 6th grade math/science at Etiwanda Intermediate. I am one proud Mama! I have a heart for this age level! Your children will tell you that I am very passionate about my subjects! I also love reading and movies, especially historical fiction! I look forward to a wonderful year with your children! Together we can help students feel successful and enjoy their time here at Day Creek!
Mission for the Class:
My mission is to have each child be successful and feel comfortable here at Day Creek. We will be reading and writing a lot this year. I will also work hard to show them that Social Studies is a fun and interesting subject! My goal is that they will leave here in May enjoying school and feeling like they've accomplished much this year!
