Suggested Supplies
This is a suggested supply list and purchase of these items is voluntary.
Our school provides all students with the supplies they need for instruction; however, if you would like your child to have their own supplies instead of sharing items with a group, you may consider buying the following:

  • Several sharp pencils with working erasers

  • Several non-erasable red pens for correcting assignments in class

  • Several blue and/or black pens

  • Colored pencils for social studies - we color A LOT - maps, graphs, artwork

  • Loose leaf paper - college rule - 8 1/2 x 11" preferred

  • Yellow, blue, green, pink and orange highlighters (writing and notes)

  • Stick on tab dividers (notebook organization)

  • 3x5 index cards for Greek/Latin roots and study guides

  • Small, self-contained pencil sharpener

  • Dry erase markers & eraser - a clean sock works well

  • Wired headphones or wired earbuds for Chromebook - Note - wireless earbuds/Airpods are not allowed at school

Universal Access "PACK"

The UA period adds an extended instructional period to the school day by where students are grouped based on standardized data, district assessments, common formative assessments, and classroom performance. All students are grouped by academic target areas for UA classes. UA classes are designed to meet the unique academic needs of students by offering multiple levels of differentiated flexible classes. UA class changes may occur throughout the year as student levels of performance are realigned with the UA class that provides the best support.

Back to School!

Mrs. Bjelland

Welcome to my 8th grade class! I'm excited to meet you!

This is my 22st year of teaching. I have been at Day Creek for 20 of those years, and at Summit Intermediate for two. I received my Bachelor's Degree in Journalism from Brigham Young University, and my Master's Degree in Education from Cal Baptist University.

I am married to Mr. Bjelland 🥳 and we have four amazing adult children. I enjoy spending time with family, reading, hiking, biking, playing the piano and organ, traveling, chatting, and generally enjoying life.

We are going to have a great year together!
