Welcome to 6th Grade! I am Dina McIntosh and I teach Language Arts and Social Studies. I am looking forward to a wonderful 2024-2025 school year.

A little bit about me....

I have been teaching in the Etiwanda School District for 29 years. The past ten have been as a 6th grade ELA/SS teacher. I love middle school. I have two children, who are my greatest joy. I can not forget my two dogs, who could be considered my kids too! I love going to the beach or hanging out at my pool. I also love to read and shop. You just might see me at Target or Victoria Gardens.

What do I teach in room 28?

Language Arts

We use the district adopted program Studysyc. We read excerpts of stories based on particular themes. Each student receives a workbook for each unit and will have access to online textbook. We will also read a few full texts.

Social Studies

We use the district adopted program TCI History Alive. We will explore Ancient Civilizations. Each student receives a workbook and will have access to online textbook.

Discovering Languages

Discovering Languages is the elective that I teach. During this elective students will learn about the many ways individuals communicate with each other. They will also explore different languages and cultures around the world and acquire a foundational pathway for learning languages. They will develop an appreciation for a diverse mixture of cultures, heritages and languages and become multilingual and multicultural citizens.
