Battle of the Books | Students enjoy reading an exciting list of books over the school year. They participate in book parties to discuss the books and team up to compete district wide about the books content in March | After School |
Gateway | The EIS GATEway to Learning program is a program that offers Gifted and Talented Education (GATE) students enriched learning opportunities that go beyond the differentiated classroom experience. Through collaborative teacher effort, classes and activities have been developed that focus on a theme. | After School |
AVID | AVID (Advancement Via Individual Determination) is a global program that we offer to all students as a year-long class. AVID teaches skills and behaviors for academic success, promoting hard work, determination, and self advocacy | During School |
Band | The EIS Bands are an ensemble of students in 6th, 7th, and 8th grade where student continue their musical study. The groups rehearse every week throughout the school year. Students will prepare several songs throughout the year and provide community performances | During School |
Yearbook | 8th Grade students who want to participate in creating and designing our school's yearbook will join the yearbook team | During School |
Wildcat TV | 7th Graders who have a desire for video editing and broadcast have an opportunity to join a year-long elective where students showcase their work in a weekly school-wide broadcast of their news report. | During School |
Leadership | 8th Graders have an opportunity to participate in leadership roles with a variety of school wide events including class competitions, contests, and spirit days | During School |
After School Homework Help | Homework help is available Tuesday- Thursday at 2:30pm with Mrs. Amaya | After School |
Cub Connections | A group of 8th grade students build relationships with 6th grade students to help their transition to middle school, to build communication skills and develop social and emotional confidence. | During School |
Wellness Wednesdays | A weekly group that focuses on helping students learn skills and habits that can promote physical, mental, and emotional well being. Activities include mindfulness, breathing exercises, art, and more | Before School |
PE Family Fitness Night | Once a year we invite Wildcat families to the gymnasium for a fun night with our PE staff. We inform parents about the current fitness standards and encourage participation in our interactive program | After School |
College and Career Fair | Our robust college and career fair includes local businesses, colleges, and universities, and local community programs to promote college and career readiness. | During School |
College Field Trips | There are a variety of college trips our students can attend through our AVID program and WE connect group | During School |
EIS Choir Progam | 6th-8th Grade can participate in this year-long group. They will have performances for our school community throughout the year. No experience necessary! | After School |
Hope Ambassador Program | Hope Ambassadors will create and run inclusive activities in order to promote positive mental health, inclusion, communication skills, and peer to peer relationships | During School |
Peer Mentors | A group of AVID students who meet weekly with student mentees | During School |
Intramural Sports | After school sports take place throughout the year. Check with your PE teacher to find out what the next sport will be. You can print a permission slip from our website to participate. | After School |
CJSF | California Junior Scholarship Federation is a state-wide organization of over 600 chapters meant to foster high standards of scholarship, service, and citizenship. CJSF prepares you for high school and beyond. Membership also brings with it the opportunity to participate in activities which benefit the school, the community, and the student. | After School |
