They do so much to help our students succeed, and it doesn't go unnoticed! Show your appreciation in any way you can—a handwritten note, their favorite snack, even just a "thank you"—and let them know you recognize their effort!

Ishaan, a student at Day Creek Intermediate, participated in the 3M Junior Scientist Challenge this year. He invented a tactile electronic braille device that can convert any voice or text message to braille and display it on a device that he created. He used a Raspberry Pi Pico to create the electronic device and connected it to a mobile app that he also developed. His project was so impressive that he was selected as one of the Top 10 Junior Scientists of 2023, and he is the only student from Southern California to make it to the finals. Not only that, but his device was also ‘field tested’ at the Inland Empire Lighthouse for the Blind in San Bernardino. His innovation has the potential to change the lives of millions of visually impaired people. Please visit the 3M Young Scientist website to learn more about Ishaan and this prestigious award.
