Reign of the Hawks

During the 2022/2023 school year, our bands partnered with composer Sakari Dixon Vanderveer, who composed a pieced unique to HIS to commemorate our 20-year milestone. The beautifully written and performed piece was entitled, "Reign of the Hawks." CLICK HERE to see it performed live for the first time.

About the band program at Heritage Intermediate School:

Instrumental instruction begins in the fifth grade bands at Solorio Elementary School, East Heritage Elementary School, and West Heritage Elementary School.  The band program at Heritage Intermediate School includes an eighth grade Hawk Band, a seventh grade Symphonic Band, and a sixth grade Concert Band. Many students from Heritage have continued their musical studies in the award-winning music program at Etiwanda High School. During the 23-24 school year, we had 4 students make the SBCMEA Honor band! In addition, the Hawk Band received Excellents for their performance at the SCSBOA Band Festival and Excellent for their Sight-reading portion.

The goal of the band program at Heritage Intermediate School is to develop outstanding musicians who create, collaborate, and dedicate time and perseverance to have the skills necessary to be successful in music and in life.
