Mrs. Ellis

Hello My Name Is...

Mrs. Gina Ellis

I have been working with students who have special needs for more than 15 years. I began my teaching career in the public school system in New York City, where I also received my Master of Science in Education with an emphasis in Special Education. I returned to California in 2012, and have been working as an RSP/SPED teacher at Heritage Intermediate School for the last 9 years.

This year my focus is the subjects of Language Arts and Social Studies. I will be teaching in the General Education setting (RSP), as well as the Self-Contained setting (SDC). I have a partner teacher, Mrs. Provines, who will focus on the subjects of Math and Science, also in the RSP and the SDC settings.

I am excited for all the adventure and wonder that will be experienced in the 6th grade this year!

The primary focus of my UA classes will be to develop foundational skills in Language Arts and to reinforce what is being taught in the Language Arts setting.

This will be accomplished by providing differentiated instruction in a small group setting.
