As a participant in this course, students will receive support in the following areas:
Teacher and peer tutoring and coaching
Reinforcement of appropriate academic behaviors that support success in school
Organization of assignments, materials and supplies and development of systems to keep trap of important papers, assignments, etc.
Completion of assignments
Assignment and project management: estimation of how long assignments will take and breaking big projects into smaller ones
Routine use of binder reminder and binder reminder checks
Additional study time
Communication tools to help students communicate with teachers, student support staff and administration
Time management techniques
Academic and self-reflection exercises
Acellus\Credit Recovery
Life Skills Education (e.g., decisions have consequences; dealing with peer pressure; obeying laws and rules; plugging in to support systems, etc.)
Students will receive support in the SOAR exploratory course based upon individual need. Students may continue to receive support in the SOAR elective beyond the six-week period based upon student success and achievement subject to teacher and student evaluation and assessment. Student performance and success will affect the duration of SOAR support.

Scholarship – Students are encouraged to enhance their learning, improve their subject knowledge, and refine their study skills in order to improve their grades in their core classes.
Ownership – Students explore the power to have mastery over their academic progress and success.
