Welcome to 8th grade!
I am so excited to be your 8th grade Math and Science teacher! This is my fifth year at HIS and what an adventure it's been. I am looking forward to helping you reach your full potential as you navigate this last year of middle school. The Heritage Intermediate Yearbook Staff will capture the memories of the 2022-2023 school year. The students will tell the year’s story by designing creative layouts on an online program. They will also take pictures that tell a story using digital cameras. Through interview and creative writing they will write about the life at Heritage Intermediate School. The staff will complete this book by the assigned deadline dates.
Program Goals:
Students will design yearbook pages using Jostens online program, Yearbook Avenue.
Students will capture and download photos using digital cameras.
Students will use writing strategies to tell the stories about student life and events at Heritage Intermediate School.
Students will use interpersonal skills and journalistic tactics to interview students and campus staff.
Students will demonstrate responsibility by completing the classroom goals by assigned deadline dates.
Our primary focus will be to develop foundational skills in Math as well as reinforce what is being taught in core Math classes.
This will be accomplished by offering students a variety of differentiated activities including: skills practice, direct instruction, educational games, and group projects.
